I used to love sensory play when I was working in Nurseries. Plus the messier the better right?
We still need to get a proper tuff spot or something to use for our sensory/messy play. But never the less for now our DIY under the bed container works perfectly and the lid is also super handy. We can keep the oats for a few days to play with, perfect!
Ava spent ages exploring the oats, feeling, moving and of course the best part tasting them. Another bonus to why playing it oats is good for little ones, completely edible and safe to eat if they try.
I also added the element of filling/emptying with some Skip Hop stack and pour buckets. They are super cute and I’m looking forward to using them again with some water play.
A LOT of oats went on the floor but its such an easy/cheap activity to do. Ava enjoyed herself so much, so much so we even had oats in our nappy! It can be a little messy but we popped down our Bobbin and Bumble mat to protect the floor and the oats that fell out were easily swept up.
