I wanted something a little special to give to Ross this year for Valentines as it’s out first one we are celebrating as Husband & Wife. When I was thinking of ideas on what I could get, I kept coming back to FOOD. Ross loves food just as much as me so when Bakerdays offered to send us a letterbox cake over to try this felt like a match made in heaven.
The letterbox cake is the smallest, giving 3-4 servings which is perfect for the two us and as the name suggests, it fits perfectly through your letterbox meaning you don’t have to wait for the postman to arrive. It really is a nice quirky personalised gift for any occasion and it’s also a good last minute gift with the option of next day delivery when your order before 2pm.
I opted for the Gluten/Wheat free sponge but there are also 5 other choices of flavours. I found the Bakerdays website easy to navigate and I had to narrow down my choices, there are just so many fantastic designs to choose from. In the end I opted for this one shown as I wanted to be able to add that little extra touch of a photo from our Wedding day.
When I opened up the cake it looked STUNNING. It fitted snuggly in the tin and was sealed with a tight plastic to keep it fresh but it was also easy to remove without causing any damage.
After staring at the cake for quite some time, while deciding whether or not it was too pretty to eat. I finally grabbed the knife and cut us a slice to try. My verdict was it did in fact taste as god as it looked. Never having eaten a Gluten/Wheat sponge I didn’t really know what to expect, I was wonderfully surprised with a light, fluffy and a taste of coconut sponge.
You can purchase your own Bakerdays letterbox cake for just £14.99 or there’s a chance to win one over on my Twitter account, go check it out WIN YOUR OWN BAKERDAYS LETTERBOX CAKE
