Who remembers the blue mascara, lip smackers and roll on glitter! As a twenty something year old I do feel a little pressured into knowing about makeup but it all honesty I don’t really have a clue, hence why I don’t blog about it!
By no means am I going to start becoming a beauty blogger, it’s not quite my area but surely asking questions won’t do any harm? I think it stems down to seeing younger girls absolutely smashing their everyday makeup and I am stuck over here feeling like a complete beginner, we can’t be good at everything right?
Following on from a previous post about my visit to Rushden Lakes I wanted to share my experience from House Of Fraser, the staff really are an asset to the company. While browsing in the Mac department, which was a first for me. I’ve never really took much interest or thought about higher end makeup as well I don’t know what to do with it. Alena was so helpful and she talked me through the shades and the different kind of foundations, surely it all does the same thing right? WRONG.
After matching me for the correct shade of foundation and applying it I was amazed, what had I be doing wrong all of these years? I’ve always just popped to boots and done the typical rub a little on your hand and saying yeah that will be ok. My perspective has really changed now that I have had some guidance and I understand a little more, well I like to think I do anyways.
I also headed to the Benefit department as I hear they are the number one for BROWS and I was disappointed. Nothing was to much trouble for Abi to show me the range of products and even show me what to do, makeup may come natural to some of you but it doesn’t for me. All in all it was a successful day and I ended up with a foundation and lipstick from MAC. Eyebrow pencils and mascara from Benefit and now I know a little more about the products I am excited to try them out myself at home, like Alena said ‘Make up is an Art”.
*As I was invited to the opening of House Of Fraser I was gifted a voucher to use*
